Blame the Comic

Blame the Comic is a Houston-born stand-up comedian, actor, host, writer, and digital content creator whose career spans more than two decades of making audiences laugh across the country. Since launching his professional comedy career in 2002, he has built a reputation for high-energy performances, sharp improvisation, relatable storytelling, and an authentic stage presence that allows him to connect with audiences of every background.

His name is part of the experience. It can be read as Blame the Comic or as an instruction: “Blame” the comic. No matter what happens during the show, Blame wants to be the one held responsible for the laughter.

Blame first gained national attention through his appearance on BET’s Coming to the Stage, introducing audiences across the country to his unique style of comedy. Early in his career, he also captured the Kings and Queens of Comedy title and earned recognition as a Las Vegas Comedy Festival Regional Winner, performing at the legendary Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas.

Throughout his career, Blame has shared the stage with and opened for some of comedy’s biggest names, including Mo’Nique, Rickey Smiley, Mike Epps, Eddie Griffin, Nephew Tommy, Chingo Bling, Jay Pharoah, and numerous nationally recognized comedians. His ability to seamlessly transition between comedy clubs, theaters, arenas, churches, corporate events, colleges, festivals, and private functions has made him one of the most versatile performers working today.

Long before social media made comedy sketches mainstream, Blame was creating original online comedy content that helped establish Houston’s early digital comedy scene. His characters, family-centered humor, and relatable observations attracted loyal audiences and positioned him among the city’s early internet comedy pioneers.

While his digital content continues to entertain millions of viewers, stand-up comedy remains the foundation of his career. Every performance blends polished material, spontaneous crowd interaction, and genuine storytelling that leaves each audience feeling like they’re part of the show.

As life evolved, so did his comedy. Marriage, fatherhood, and everyday family life have become rich sources of inspiration, allowing Blame to deliver comedy that is both hilarious and deeply relatable. His material reflects real life—relationships, parenting, neighborhood experiences, and the beautiful chaos of balancing family with a career in entertainment.

In 2025, Blame earned national recognition as a finalist in the Because They’re Funny Breakout Comedian of the Year competition. After advancing through the Los Angeles competition, he performed at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., during the nationally recognized Because They’re Funny Comedy Festival.

That same year, he won 97.9 The Box’s HOU Got Jokes competition at the Houston Improv, outperforming nearly 100 comedians before an esteemed judging panel that included Ali Siddiq, Marcus D. Wiley, and Billy Sorrells. The victory earned him a coveted performance on the nationally touring We Them Ones Comedy Tour at Houston’s Toyota Center, where comedy icon Mike Epps personally encouraged him backstage with the memorable words:

“I’ll see you at the top.”

Building on that momentum, 2026 became another milestone year. Blame opened for acclaimed comedian and actor Jay Pharoah, performed during the historic Black Wall Street celebration in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and once again shared the stage with comedy legend Rickey Smiley. In one of the most meaningful moments of his career, Blame was personally invited by George Floyd’s family to speak following the Kevin Hart Roast, a testament to both his voice and the respect he has earned beyond comedy.

Today, Blame the Comic continues to establish himself as one of the country’s most dynamic entertainers. Whether delivering clean comedy, headlining clubs, hosting major events, engaging audiences through crowd work, or creating viral digital content, he brings professionalism, authenticity, and unforgettable energy to every performance.
